Ingredients
  

  • 7 oz 200g ladyfinger biscuits (Savoiardi)
  • 9 oz 250g mascarpone cheese
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup strong espresso or black coffee cooled
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream optional, for a lighter texture
  • 2 tbsp coffee liqueur Marsala or rum, optional

Instructions
 

Make the Mascarpone Cream:

  • In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Add mascarpone cheese and mix until fully combined.
  • (Optional: Fold in heavy cream for a lighter texture.)

Prepare the Ladyfingers:

  • Quickly dip ladyfingers into cooled espresso (don’t soak them too long, or they’ll become mushy).
  • Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in a serving dish.

Layer the Tiramisu:

  • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  • Add another layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers.
  • Spread the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.

Chill:

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours (overnight for the best flavor).

Serve:

  • Before serving, dust with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
  • (Optional: Garnish with shaved chocolate for extra richness.)
